the aim

The purpose of the Property Management System (PMS) is to record, manage and report on information about properties within the areas subject to the Mine Subsidence Compensation Act and any transactions relating to those properties administered by the Mine Subsidence Board (MSB).

Transaction types include:

  • Building applications
  • Certificates
  • Claims
  • Subdivisions

The MSB required a new system to replace the existing PMS. The updated system was to include the following improvements: 

  • The refinement and standardisation of procedures and processes
  • Improved data integrity
  • Improved reporting
  • Enhanced user experience

the solution

The new PMS is a WPF application based on the following technologies:
  • Microsoft .NET Framework
  • Microsoft Windows Server
  • Oracle
  • SQL Server Reporting Services
  • Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)
  • Extensible Application Markup Language (XAML)
  • Windows Communication Foundation (WCF)

The new PMS is a WPF application that allows users to easily enter, access and report on data. The new PMS is integrated with:
  • DocuMap, a document management system
  • ESRI’s ArcGIS geographic information system
  • The 15B Mobile Application where field inspection data can be submitted to the PMS via a mobile application
