Sydney Opera House - Fabric and Presentation Index

the aim

To deliver a system that would enable the Sydney Opera House (SOH) to monitor the condition and presentation of the House by collecting and processing data against a target and/or benchmark, and reporting on building condition and presentation.

the solution

A solution was developed based on the following components:

• Microsoft Windows
• Microsoft .Net
• SQL Server
• Microsoft Office 2003
• Crystal Reports

This system allows the SOH to record and report on scoring for cleanliness, presentation, impression and levels of maintenance. The Fabric and Presentation Index (FaPI) allows the SOH to:

• Record a large number of scores using a tablet PC while disconnected from the network
• Quickly identify objects (doors, rooms, elements etc) in a complex floor plan and level layout
• Produce a variety of reports from a large data set including:
• Text reports
• Graph reports
• Drill down reports
• Export reports in a variety of formats
